Defending Human Rights And Democratic Freedoms

Confronting lies. Defending your rights.
Add your name to protest letters calling out anyone spreading hate or denying our humanity.

Speak up. Be heard. Drive change.

Why You Need To Act Now

The recent attacks on trans rights, women’s rights, and LGBTQIA+ rights are an assault on our existence. We will not stand by.

Let us speak the truth and fight for your rights, with your signature as our shield.

We Will Defend Your Rights As A Human

A single signature can be ignored.

Thousands will force change.

This month both the Parliment and the House of Lords will be reviewing the changes to the EHRC guidance.

The proposed EHRC changes affect millions of people across the UK.

We are currently halfway through a 14 letter campaign to all 829 members of the House of Lords, giving them the information they need to make the right decision.

Adding to this, we are now compiling reponses to the MP’s who came back to us from last months letter campaign to the House of Commons. We have had more responses than anticipated and we feel it is an opportune time to strengthen the resolve of those who stand with us, and educate those who do not yet understand.

This effects ALL people in the UK, not just trans people. We are being used as an excuse to roll equality rights to the dark ages. This is the worst case of Human Rights Violations we have seen in British History.

We will also be preparing to advocate for the reversal of the new schools guidance.

The New RSHE guidance was published on 15 July 2025 and will take effect from 1 September 2026. This includes a separate, non-statutory “Gender Questioning Children” guidance. The draft, due for publication later this year says schools should not initiate transition and should engage parents. A travisty for any trans youth.

Let’s Tell The Truth

Before anything else, you are human.

That simple, undeniable truth must be protected. No identity, no label, no belief changes your right to exist with dignity and safety. We will not allow ignorance, fear, or hate to strip away the rights that protect us all. Together, we stand against those who seek to divide and diminish our humanity.

We stand together for everyone’s right to body autonomy and to live as their true self. Conformity is not a condition of humanity. No one should be forced to change, hide, or justify their existence.

Women’s rights are trans rights.

All trans men and AFAB non-binary, gender-fluid, and AFAB gender-diverse people were born in female bodies. All trans women are women, in every respect. Its safe to say that all trans people are feminists who stand for women’s rights to respect, dignity, and safety. We are united in this fight.

Our struggles are not separate, they are intertwined. When you attack trans rights, you attack women’s rights. When you defend one, you defend all women.

* Around 45% of trans people are trans men, born into female bodies (AFAB). Another 45% are trans women, living as women and deeply understanding the challenges women face every day. The remaining 10% are non-binary, with around half also AFAB. That means at least 95% of trans people have lived the female experience and are guaranteed feminists, standing up for women’s rights, dignity, and safety in everything they do. Our fight is shared. Our voices are united.

* Figures given are approximate, based on membership of our group.

Violence Targets Us All

Violence and harassment are a constant threat for both trans people and women. We are attacked daily. We are raped. We are abused. The struggle is shared. We must protect all our sisters. Cis women, trans women, and every human under attack.

Cis women are being targeted too. Simply expressing yourself outside traditional gender norms, short hair, non-gendered clothing, or other non-conforming choices can make you a target. The so-called ‘women’s anti-trans’ groups are not protecting you. They are making you more vulnerable to abuse.

Challenging Lies. Demanding Dignity.

All public bodies, officials, and those with power over our lives must be held accountable. They are being fed lies, we will confront them with truth, demand respect, and educate them about who we are. This is not just our fight. It’s a human issue that includes them too. We will speak intelligently, honestly, and with facts, not hate, hearsay, or rhetoric.

We will not wait for change, we will create it. Stand with us. Speak the truth. Demand respect.

About Us

Trans Matters Worldwide is one of the UK’s largest trans communities, based in London. What began as a social group has become a movement. Faced with growing attacks on our rights and our existence, we are taking action and we refuse to be silent.

We are not new to advocacy. We have produced four ground-breaking films, viewed by thousands worldwide, giving trans people the opportunity to speak openly and honestly about their lives,  without filters or censorship. No group has ever done this before. In June, we will release a fifth film Dear Wes… exposing the removal of trans youth healthcare.

This is our first major public campaign, but our voices have already reached across the globe. Our mission is clear, to defend dignity, educate the public, and empower trans people and their allies to stand together against hate and misinformation.

FAQ’s

What exactly am I giving permission for when I sign?

By signing, you give permission for your name and signature to be included in letters, petitions, and official communications sent to MPs, the House of Lords, NHS bodies, media outlets, and any organisations or individuals threatening women’s rights, trans rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, and human rights. Your signature will be used solely to advocate for truth, respect, and the protection of our rights.

Can I opt out of certain campagins?

Yes you can. Each month we’ll send you a list of that months campaigns. You have the opportunity to opt out of that campaign, if you wish. You will be automatically added in to future comapigns unless you opt out of those campaigns.

Is my signature public?

No it is not. There is nothing to fear. It is added to the letters who are sent to the government and other public bodies. They have no way to identify you.  We will never share your names outside of the letters to anyone, ever.

Why do you need so many signatures?

One voice can be ignored. Thousands cannot. When thousands of us stand together, our message becomes impossible to dismiss. Your signature helps turn individual struggles into a united front.

Will my personal information be safe?

Yes. We will only use your name and signature as stated, in advocacy letters and petitions.

We take your privacy and security very seriously. Your information is protected by industry-standard encryption and robust security systems, and we’ve put strong anti-hacking measures in place. We will never sell or misuse your data. You can also withdraw your consent at any time if you change your mind.

Why are you asking for my postcode?

MPs will only repond to people who are in their constituency. Though we will never give anymore your postcode, we can verify that we have signatories from that particular constituent that forces the MP to repond. Once they repond, we know where they really stand and can repond appropriately.

Does any of this make a difference?

Yes it does. The reason you have any rights at all is because of campaigns like this. The more we stand together, the more we can achieve. Please sign every petition, every campaign, every protest. This is a long term gain for the rights and freedoms that will last your lifetime.

Who will receive these letters and petitions?

Letters will go to Members of Parliament (Commons and Lords), healthcare bodies like the NHS, public officials, the media, and any groups promoting falsehoods or policies that threaten women’s, trans, and LGBTQIA+ rights. We’ll also reach out to international organisations where needed.

What type of content will be included in the letters, and how can I trust the approach?

Our letters will be grounded in verified facts and evidence, written in a respectful but firm tone. They will be direct, educational, and personalised to each recipient, sharing personal experiences to provide a human perspective. We will speak intelligently and honestly, avoiding hearsay, hate speech, or rhetoric. The goal is to promote constructive dialogue, ensure accountability, and demand respect while maintaining professionalism and credibility.

Why should cis people care about this?

Because cis people are being targeted too. Non-conforming appearance or behaviour, like short/long hair or gender-neutral clothing, can make anyone a target. Anti-trans rhetoric is making all people’s lives more dangerous. This fight is for all of us.

What impact can we really have?

We will not wait for change, we will create it. By standing together and speaking with one powerful, unified voice, we can influence public policy, educate decision-makers, and defend our shared human rights. Change happens when we refuse to stay silent.

Is there a monetary cost to signing or supporting the campaign?

Signing is always free. After signing, you’ll have the option to become a monthly supporter starting from just £3 a month. Membership is completely optional but helps us fund ongoing advocacy, outreach, and provide exclusive welcome packs for our members.
